Local alternative rock band Pacific Avenue is ending what has been a massive year on yet another high note.
In the lead up to releasing their first album with major music label BMG [Pacific Avenue signs with BMG], the band is off to London tomorrow to introduce themselves to the UK audience.
In a packed three week trip, they will be supporting Sydney band the DMA’S at the last three shows of their tour – in Glasgow, Manchester and London’s Brixton Academy; as well as supporting popular UK artist Jamie Webster at sold out shows in Bristol and Leeds.
The band is also going to do their own headline show at a small pub in London - the Sebright Arms, off Hackney Road - which has a reputation for hosting the early shows of break through musicians, such as Courtney Barnett.
The trip follows playing to really big crowds around Australia during a tour with Louis Tomlinson, originally with One Direction.
“We did some arena shows with him, and it was great to be around a really professional team and be able to watch what they were doing,” says Pacific Avenue’s Harry O’Brien.
“We learnt so much about what we have to do to step up the game a bit.”

While some of their music has already been played in the UK, the real push has yet to begin.
“We have been focusing on building a nice base in Australia, but now we are building up to releasing a new album we [BMG and management group FRNDS] have begun reaching out to radio stations and doing PR around the world,” says Harry.
“We want to start pushing in the UK and take a couple of more trips over there.”
