Problems on Wallaby Hill RdThe landslip at the upper end of the road

Wallaby Hill Rd, a dead end road which services mountain side properties to the south west of Jamberoo, has incurred significant damage and will remain closed for some time.

Near the upper end of the road, a landslip and fallen trees have blocked the road entirely and the embankment below the road has slumped. Three properties are located above this blockage point.

Further down from the first landslip site, another section of embankment is slumping restricting the width of the road to only allow small vehicles.

A statement from Council  says it “is speaking to the residents above the slips daily to check on their welfare and has advised that neither they nor anyone else should not drive over the slips or cracked roads in any vehicle”.

Council crews have attempting to clear debris from the road, and a geotechnical engineer will inspect the site tomorrow or Thursday to assess and advise on appropriate short and long-term actions.
