After months of planning, the return of Kiama Seaside Markets after a long lockdown break has been foiled by the weather forecast. Locals and visitors will now have to wait until Sunday 21 November for the Markets' return.
With the new management attracting almost 150 stalls, the call had to be made early.
“I’ve set up massive events, like big rock concerts, which had stalls at them but I’ve never done anything that’s just specifically markets, so I’ve been working on this for probably 16 hours a day for the last three or four months,” says Yasmin Tatrai, the Market’s new Manager.
“It’s really important to me that we get it right so that the stallholders, the town and everyone do really well from it.”

Yasmin, who has a background in business and events, is being helped behind the scenes by her partner Roger Veage.
This Sunday’s Market was to be a special make up market to get things started again after months of being closed.
The remaining markets will be held on the third Sunday of the month, and they are also aiming to hold a New Year’s Eve market.
“We hoping to get approval from Council for a New Year’s Eve market because with the fireworks being cancelled we want to give the town something amazing,” says Yasmin.
The Market is operated by the Kiama & District Business Chamber.
