UPDATE - A LAST MINUTE CHANGE BY THE NSW GOVERNMENT MEANS THAT ONLY EMPLOYERS IN THE LOCKDOWN AREA MUST REQUIRE WORKERS TO WORK AT HOME.
WE WILL PUBLISH AN UPDATE ON THE COUNCIL SITUATION ONCE MORE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE.
From tomorrow, all NSW employers (SEE ABOVE) must require a worker to work from home unless it is not reasonably practicable. Failure to do this can result in a fine of up to $10,000.
To comply with the Public Health Order, from tomorrow all Council staff whose jobs allow will be working from home. Council is the Municipality's biggest employer.
"We will be down to a skeleton staff in our administration building, but our customer services - the leisure centre, library, tourism office and other facilities - and our outside workforce will still be working on site," says Council's CEO, Jane Stroud.
"It will be business as usual in pretty adapted circumstances."
All but ten of the Blue Haven staff will be continuing to come into work.
"The key difference between this time and the last lockdown is that last time we had instructions to close libraries, galleries, leisure centres, parks and other facilities," says Ms Stroud.
"This time, we don't have that specific level of instruction but the Public Health Order says all staff must work from home unless there are reasonable grounds not to do so."
Because of this, the change of work environment behind the scenes is not expected to be as noticable to residents.
The current Public Health Order is in force until 31 July at this stage.
